Rev. Andrew Heil
Pastor

Andrew began as pastor of the Grace community in June 2023.  Having previously served congregations in nearby Winston-Salem, Andrew is excited to form new friendships in Mount Airy.  A graduate of Lee University and the Wake Forest University School of Divinity, Andrew celebrates the many and varied gifts that each of us contributes to the sharing and practice of faith. Andrew is married to Sarah and they are the parents of Molly and Eli. He most enjoys sharing meals with people, being outdoors, and spending time with family.

Gitte Strauss
Church Secretary

Gitte grew up in Germany and came to this country in 1982. Gitte and her husband, Dan, moved to Mount Airy in 2007 and they love living in this area. Dan retired from the U.S. Army after serving on active duty for 26 years. 

Gitte has an Associate Degree in Office Administration and a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Development. She worked at John S. Clark as an HR Administrative Assistant until the business closed. Gitte came to work for Grace Moravian Church on December 7, 2015. 

Her hobbies include crocheting, gardening, and reading. She is also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.

Kathy Pruett
Choir Director/ Organist

Kathy is originally from Charlotte where she grew up in the Episcopal and Presbyterian churches before going to Lenoir-Rhyne College where she received her degree in music.  Following graduation, she married into a local Mt. Airy family and became the organist at Grace in December 1980. Subsequently, she added the choir director responsibilities in 1987. Kathy works to provide a diverse musical program that reflects the many different aspects of our Christian lives and our relationship with Christ.

 

Aside from her involvement at Grace, Kathy spends her time caring for her husband and two daughters, is a fitness enthusiast, paints, works with flowers, and enjoys travel.
