On-going Opportunities for Children and Youth During the 10:00 worship service each week, there is a children’s message; afterwards the children up through second grade are invited to attend their own Children’s Church. Sunday School at 11:10 (Classes are listed in the lower left hand corner). Youth Ministry on Sundays at 5:30 beginning with a meal. A Word from Scarlett Dowdy Director of Children and Youth Ministries Vacation Bible School: Was a great success!! We had between 35 and 40 children and youth each night and about 10-15 adults as well. Thank you to all the volunteers that made this event possible. Commissioning during Worship and Youth Mission Trip to Elizabeth City, NC: Eleven youth and three adults will be taking part in this year's mission trip. They include: Brianna Simmons, Meg Pruett, Sarah Schoenborn, Courtney Isaacs, Meredith Dowdy, Jill Epperson, Hal Epperson, Nick DeKoning, Devin Dhesi, Jake Smith, Drew Goins, Bob Dowdy, Pat Talluri and myself. The group will be commissioned during worship on July 12th. Carowinds: All the youth will be invited to go to Carowinds on Monday, August 17th. More information will be mailed to them with all the details. Mark your calendars for this fun event. Children and Youth Lovefeast: This will take place on Sunday August 23rd during worship. This will be the time that the youth will tell all about the youth mission trip and all the children and youth will be involved in the service itself! Dates that I will be serving out of Town: July 4-11 - Junior 2 Summer Camp counselor at Laurel Ridge. July 26-August 1 - Youth Mission Trip to Elizabeth City, NC
